Filters for cleaning liquids and gases

Mesh filters are designed for mechanical cleaning of transported liquid or gaseous media from solid suspended particles. Their installation makes it possible to protect critical components of pipeline systems and equipment from abrasive effects. The polluting particles are captured by a fine stainless steel wire mesh. It is rolled up in the form of an open cylinder and installed inside a metal case. To ensure the rigidity of the filter element, the mesh is fixed inside a corrosion-resistant steel frame. The pitch of the mesh cells ensures the fineness of the flow filtration of at least 0.5 mm.

General Description

The filter design consists of a metal housing side, a flange cover and an embedded filter element. The following grades of steels are used for manufacturing:

  • 12X18H10T – stainless steel;
  • St20 – carbon;
  • 09G2C – low temperature.

For connection to the pipeline, two flange nozzles are welded on both sides of the steel filter. According to the customer’s specifications, the flanges can be replaced with coupling or welded joints.

To fix the position of the filter element, a threaded hole is provided in the lid, into which a screw pin is installed. When it is screwed in, the mesh frame is pressed tightly against the bottom and will no longer be able to turn around.

The square flange cover is bolted to the body with four bolts. The tightness of the connection is ensured by the installation of a rubber gasket. Therefore, cleaning or replacing the mesh cylinder is easy and fast.

The outer metal surfaces are painted with powder paint twice on the ground. The color is black or blue, but the customer can choose other color shades. For example, yellow for a gas pipeline or red for hot water.

Performance characteristics

  • diameter of the conditional passage from 15 to 150 mm;
  • maximum permissible pressure of 1.6 or 2.5 MPa (16 or 25 kg /cm2);
  • operating temperature range from -60 °C to +100 °C;
  • climatic version U1 – from -40 °C to +40 °C;
  • relative humidity 80%;
  • transported medium – liquids and gases;
  • nominal flow rate from 0.000884 to 0.9 m3/sec;
  • filtration fineness from 0.5 mm;
  • estimated service life up to 10 years.

Installation requirements

In the standard version, the strainer is attached to the pipe’s mating flanges. The position of the arrow applied to the housing must correspond to the direction of flow of the working medium. The cover of the compartment in which the filter element is installed must be directed downwards or to the side. When installing the valve, free access should be provided for possible maintenance and cleaning.

Cost

The price of a mesh mechanical filter depends on factors such as:

  • diameter of the conditional passage;
  • material of the housing and cover;
  • working pressure of the medium;
  • special requirements of the customer.

Therefore, the issue of the cost of fittings should be clarified at the stage of issuing the terms of reference and concluding the contract.
